This Empty Silence
This virulent silence awakens me; beckons me
Here to this place I can hardly seem to find.
In the middle of a dismal night, ceasing dreams not
So entertaining, just more bleak messages in my head.
Everything; something; someone shouldn’t be here.
Making themselves stand out against the dark.
Pretending to be something, so uninvited.
Taking up the space of someone who deserves, they’ll find
You, and point you out with knobby fingers.
Say what you mean and let it be.
I will go on listening and charade.
Letting you see, that maybe I am something.
Even though I can still hear your remarks.
Netting a web of doubt around my face.
Can’t I ever be rid of this silence; because
Everything here is so cold.
