Innermorphosis
Away from the confines of the house, devoid of warmth, surrounded by the chill, and mosquitoes feeding on her bleeding veins…
the cat watches - - as she curls into a ball, chest heaving of muffled pain, eyes rimmed with red unknown to man
the cat listens - - as pregnant tears drop and create a pool of melancholy only to be absorbed by her cold wrinkled skin
the cat watches and listens - - in heightening awe as she rocks back and forth until the she that she was became…
unfamiliar
yet familiar
to a daughter’s glassy vision of herself changing to a cat, unable to do anything but watch and listen as the mother she knew turned into the daughter that she was.

Interesting write but the last stanza seemed a little confusing.
