I’m sick of pretending
And holding things inside

I try to appear to be happy

And it’s taken right out of sight

The guy I loved and cared for
Who had my heart and soul
Claims he “still loves me”
But are we together, no

The friends that were the closest
Who knew me inside and out
Now barely know me at all
And it’s leaving me with doubts

Am I no longer good enough?
Are you embarrassed of me?
You say that “no, you are not”
But whatever the case may be

It’s hard not to think these things
When this is how you act
Or maybe it’s just time for me
To look at, and face, the facts

We’re getting older now
Time goes by so fast
Before we know it
These will all be memories of the past

So life is quickly changing
Things won’t always be the same
What won’t kill you makes you stronger
And you need strength to play this game
