Morning Light

Outside the window
birds chirp clear and crisp
as in the morning light
or dusks fleeting hours
Like time standing still
they sing for hours without end
like they are putting time on hold
until your in my arms again
though the days are few
with you not by my side
when they are here
time seems to pause in step
things to do, places to go
are like chores that must be done
these walls are so quiet
sounds fall silent to the din
part of this picture is waiting
to be whole again


Whatever life is beyond where we now sit, I believe with all I am, they watch, they see. We miss them and love them from the depths of who we are.
