War
For all that you could do,
War should rank last on the list,
And high... Is it worth it?
All the dead lives wasted all
For your power, your money,
Your resources?
Or is it to preserve the rights of man
When all else has failed?
When after twenty-seven years of civil-war,
Angola has suffered torrents and horrors
That leads to not only mass death and
Destruction, but also the corruption
And rotting of the mind,
Leading to the accusation of not only the elderly,
But children,
As young as five,
Tortured, hanged, beat, raped, burned, drowned, stoned..
Is that worth it?
The decimating of innocent children,
The future of your country?
When children are forced to dance and jump
For hours on end in the hottest part of
The torching African day…
When they thought their actions would cleanse
The witches and sorcerers of the land?
When they needed someone, anyone to blame?
When instead of taking a step forwards,
They take two steps backwards?
When no one, not even parents,
Come to the defense of the children,
Except the accused children themselves,
Who are often accused of petty mistakes
Most children do, or know no better of?
When the parents are often the ones to
Bury their own children alive,
Are these torrents of the mind and memory,
Worth the struggle, when their always be
Disagreements, and war will boil up over
The pot again, like always, often to
Emphasize their power and sacrifice the
Precious lives of their own people with little regard?
