Eternity Seeking
Whilst the world and its neighbours were silent asleep Something was stirring and leaving its keep It wandered the streets beneath moonlit skies And shuffled along screeching mournful cries
A night gown a candle some papers in hand No objective in life but to search and to stand Maybe she longs for that something she lost? This spirit shall find it whatever the cost
Black are the orbs sunken deep in her head Still is her pulse Tears throbbing instead Veins are like cobwebs Green on her wrists Frustration displayed as she clenches her fists
She stops and she glares at the paper she holds Gently and slowly the parchment unfolds Her orbs they transfix on the heavenly skies She prays with her letter may come some replies
“Dear Father” she calls “If you are listening to me Please find me my baby Allow me to see You stole her away and my spirit can’t rest ‘Till my child returned and is safe at her best My hunt it began in 1708 ‘Till she’s back in my arms forever I’ll wait!”
That spirit still wanders through moonlit skies And still can be heard are her mournful cries She reads to the Gods her letter of rhyme And hopes that her baby will come back in time The era that dawns is 2004 Her tears shall be falling forever and more
