*Authors note: This poem will probably not be considered a tragedy to anyone but me, but since it affects me personally it is quite a tragedy indeed. A little background. This poem is about BHS, the school I graduated from. It is closing down. There will no longer be concerts, sports, yearbooks or anything from that. This is a huge chunk of my past, so I wrote a few poem commemortating and expressing my thoughts and feelings about this.
Halls of Battle 4/2/04 3:05 pm
Memories last for a lifetime dreams we never let go sharing love and laughter in one another we grow
From the first to the last we gave all we had to give missing things is now a part of the lives we all must live
We're like a broken home with bonds stretched thin we stuggle to hold together not wanting them to win
But bonds are broken something chem class taught and separation we'll endure after the battle we had fought
Although tears are being shed and pain has gripped us tight the memories will be with us always to guide us through each night
And though the halls will be empty the spirit will live within you may have broken the bonds but the memories will always win

Yeah... It sucks that a place you practically spent a good part of your life is being shut down. *huggle* Anyway... I thought that this piece fit in perfectly with what's going on. Even if someone didn't know of the situation, they'd probably be able to relate to this in some way. I liked it.

Wow Kris, this was really great, I love the imagery and everything, this was really good. I know the emotion that surrounds your HS, mine is still up but if something happened to it, I know I'd be devastated. I hate that this is happening to you and your school, that really does suck, but you know, the memories will never die, they'll always live inside your heart and soul because they are a part of who you are and where you came from, that can never be changed, remember that. The people who were there with you, they'll also share those same memories and it will always be with them too, so if you ever need a refreshing of your old HS days, perhaps you could always contact one of them...just a thought. Hope it helps.
