Broken Promise
12/31/03
Somedays I just wish
that one of your promises
were actually real
that you would be there
when you said you would
that you'd quit toying
with the strings on my heart
that you'd either let me go
or rip me apart
I can't stand this slow descent
into the pool of pain
I wish that i could stop
loving you so much
because everytime you make a promise
it is always broken
and i end up wanting
to rip my heart out
so it can't make the rest of me
ache like it does

I know this sounds like an oxymoron but this poem is beautiful because of the pain. Powerful write.

i know what you mean about pain being beautiful...i think that some of the most beautiful things written were from the feelings of pain, because it is a powerful emotion! thanks for reading!

Pain is actually one of the most powerful emotions out there. It can outshine all the others at any given moment. Pain is unexpected and powerful. However love does conquer all. That's atleast what I think. This was a great work of art. You are truly a beautiful person. Even when in pain your beauty sets you free.

hey...nice job on this one. its so sad how many times this is true for so many people. just know you are strong and don't wait around for the other person...don't allow them to hurt you!
