A Poet Looks At Twenty

Many years I have lived to see
Many things I've come to be
Born as a child with an earthly spine
Raised to be a man with a soul to shine
The darkest grey clouds have passed
But the guiding light has been cast
Upon my mortal scars that long to heal
To be more than an image set to fade
To be remembered for my two decades
To glicen in the grand spotlight
Rewarded champion after the fight
To be loved and accepted by at least one
Becoming happily complete when I am done
The ground work has been set
My lessons learned I'll not forget
As I venture forward along my journey
I'll face more trials to keep learning
As I've survived 20 years in this realm
I'm now a man, sitting at the helm

wonderful piece...i can't pick a favorite part cuz it's all great...although the ending was a little arhythmic...i couldn't find a way to say it that sounded right

Turning 20 is a major step to becoming who you will be for the remainder of your life, so yeah, it is a big deal, and it's tough, I know...but it'll be just fine man! BTW, great job!

I like this piece, i can't relate but that's well beside the point of this poem. You've expressed it all rather brilliantly though. Lol my friends mum once told him, in three years he'll be 20 and it's all down hill from there. Course you never know, nicely done ^_^
