I am plastic just like you:
I always wanted to have a life-
Like the little perfect Miss Barbie doll
With her long stringy blonde hair
So fake and shiny
I wonder if she uses Pantene Pro V
and takes her daily vitamins.
I know she only
Eats plastic
And the pearly pink brush she uses
To tame her hair
Is bigger than her head.
She wears white panties
That never comes off.
Mr. Ken must be very disappointed
That he can’t have a little
“fun”
With the most flawless piece
Of eye candy
That every guy
Dreams to eat.
If only I was Barbie
Who has over a half a dozen friends-
Jenny, Suzie, Kim, Becky, Skipper,
Kelly, Christy, Tiffany
You can’t tell one of them apart
From the other
Except a few of them have
Light brown hair, green eyes,
Or a lighter shade of lipstick.
But that doesn’t mater
Because great minds think alike
Or little at all.
I know you can be anything
My pretty little plastic skinny friend
Wear a skimpy dress
That covers half of your body
And a pair of red high heels
Then you can be a
Doctor,
Lawyer,
Or even President of the United States
After all it doesn’t take
Brains
But beauty
To be the ultra super
Woman,
Mother,
And wife.
With the cell phone in one hand
And a cute little bouncing baby boy
Clutched under your arm
While making
Dinner for two.
You have no problems
You can handle it all
Just with a tight hot pink
Smile permanently stretched
Around your straight
Dazzling white teeth
That glitters with a spark
Of intriguing wonder
Every time you look at them.
And how I would love
To be plastic
Just like you.
Be part every young girl’s dream
As they hold you tightly
With their little fingers
Controlling
Every movement,
Every word,
Every thought
That comes out of
Your pretty little head. . .
