Before I write it here, I want to stress it is not a love poem, nor is it a song.
I wrote it on a piece of lined paper, and carried on each line until I ran out of space, and continued it on the next and so on. I then used this to determine the lines of the poem and give it the form/structure. I don't know if there's a name for this form of writing but if there is I'd be curious to hear it!
I Love You To The Ends Of The Earth
Uranium throws time through holes as we climb
unfamiliar walls in galaxial pathways,
calculating the days as we fall down
deep underground into the darkness below
and as we know, incorrect commands pinpoint
the wrong point, but we can't avoid
the craters made by asteroids as they hit
causing a ballistic fit of rage
before we enter the core and break down the door
Baby I'm glad you've died before.
Complex formulae directs us through unfound
points like a clue, gliding downwards perfectly
as if we knew what to do as we go through
the spatio-time crossover, we await as we
tempt fate but before it's too late disintegration occurs
and with motion our vision blurs while the gravity turns
the galaxy inside out we shout but
without thought gently we claw and escape
the floor.
Baby I'm glad you've died before.
Our remaining moments remain in silence before we
cease all violence until actions form
slowly to reactions but the slow delay time
shows no left time so we fire lasers while
the Earth burns away because we strayed; but meanwhile
decayed gamma falls like a hammer
onto the floor, as an advanced formula
shows we can make it though but I'd rather burn
through the course than fight the force so
into oblivion we gnaw but that you chose to ignore.
Baby I'm glad you've died before.
