I say never be satisfied I say never be content If you are in complacement Then you can never grow Don't be satisfied with your life Don't be satisfied with your being We need to evolve Evolve into something greater Take everything that concerns us to the next level Don't let your current status stay the same Knock your relationships up a notch in meaning Knock your qualities and values up to greater standpoint If we stay in the same place forever Then we can never go anywhere else Don't sit back and watch the world fly by Get up off your feet and do something about it Change your world Change your life Never be satisfied Never be content Never be complete

Certainly a nice piece and I agree with parts of your message but if one is never satisfied one is never happy.

very well written and i agree that we should never give up on our dreams...but i agree with silvereyes...a person can't be happy if all they have is dreams...sometimes reality and the kicks we get are the things we have to embrace in order to survive...very well written!

Very well done I've oft said that "The day I stop growing is the day I'll dig my grave and crawl in". I see life as a journey full of chances to explore, grow, extend myself; and thus far I've not encountered anything to show that life isn't such a journey.
Regarding satisfaction? I've a somewhat different perspective... I'll use my woodworking as an example. It took a lot of hard work, plenty of splinters, plenty of ruined or badly-done projects - and yup, I Just Was Not Satisfied (TM), and I was definitely most unhappy... but I kept going, and finally learned enough to create my first self-designed/wood-carved/built/finished/ bookshelf -
Yeah. I AM very satisfied with that project, and yes, I AM very happy with it to this day - but... but...
But at another level I was not and am not satisfied; for I've taken what I did achieve as the foundation to reach for the NEXT level of skill, and I'm not satisfied with the results (yet), nor happy with what I've done so far -
BUT that doesn't preclude the satisfaction and happiness associated the learning process; nor does it preclude the satisfaction and happiness with what has gone before, been achieved before; nor does it preclude the satisfaction and happiness one experiences in the moment as one achieves a previously unachievable task, goal, or project...
The danger- and this is what I get out of the poem - is to STOP at that point, sat in the satisfaction and happiness of that moment, and never go on to learn, do, and accomplish more, to never set further goals and strive for those in turn...
YMMV, of course

Ghost Wolf, I believe you got the message right. I wrote this poem to convey the message to never stop growing. If we become complacent, then we are dead. But if we prosper, then we are living. Sitting idle will get you nowhere. Once you get started on something, never settle for anything, go forth as if there were no limits to what you can do.
