The world is ripping apart at the seams Kids are loosing sight of their dreams Murder and rape are everywhere we go So many kids waiting on death row
Racial wars and hate crimes These are what we call hard times Discrimination on every corner Everyone awaiting the new world order
Politicians lie and cheat their way to the top Insane terrorists may never be stopped Suicide bombers boarding planes Our noble soldiers held hostage in chains
Children killed by their own sorry mothers Haters taking the lives of their own brothers Drugs dealt to kids on the city streets As another child's heart marks it's last beat
Babies never getting a chance to live Wake us from this nightmare, this can't be real When teachers and students get shot in class Our hearts are shattered like pieces of glass
God bring an end to this vile rage Save us from this modern corrupted age Some changes must be made really soon Or the whole world is going to meet it's doom

Thank you all for the comments, I appreciate them. I wrote this piece while I was taking a Creative Writing class last semester. Our class made a book of each student's best pieces and this one was hailed as one of their favorites of mine that I presented before the class. It's sad, but true. Thanks again,
John

This is all so true. This world is rapidly becoming nothing more than a trash filter. Poisoned by it's own waste. People killing one another. This world only lacks a few short years before it completely destroys itself. This was a great poem. I have seen it before and it only get's better. Great Job partner,
