The clouds must be happy, To be free of earthly sins. While beings strive to be filthy, I wish for godly kins.
The wind wouldn't bear with me. The Zephyr was no longer kind, Even the ocean wouldn't let me see The pearly hills I wanted to find.
The sky wouldn't tell me Where the butterflies all go, Even mountains all agree That the sky is beyond their snow.
I told myself I wouldn't cry, And I would cut off my puppet strings, But I found that every time I try, I clip away my little wings.

...I clip away my little wings
love that line- to me it seems hopeful, that the puppet strings are heart ties. Those strings try to lead you, ARE leading you, where you want to be-... maybe, and when you try to cut them- you stop because it hurts the best parts. Even if I got it wrong- something about the Sound itself, the sound of the last line s I love. Thanks,I enjoyed this one.

wow..this is a great piece...i especially loved the last stanza...and it is true...we are all tied to puppet strings, in escapable ones, unless we are willing to destroy a part of ourselves...great job!
