On the mantle way up high stands a small glass horse thin strands so fragile woven in beauty He stands on a base of many black roses with little spots of glue holding him together the troubles and torment the breaks and the cracks the pieces that were lost when he crashed to the ground so many times rescued to be broken again glued back together then snapped one more time the fine glass strands now bruised with spots glued over and over his heart broken time and again now sitting high in his place he wondered once more if this was a refuge or was he standing in line for many times before he was crushed by embraces when finally his faith was given completely one more crack in his threads one more shattering night no glue would repair him he could be nevermore

Joe, it's great to have you with us. This poem was very well written. I especially enjoyed it's romantic feel and even gestures. Great Job and welcome to Poet Club.

Here is a long time ago reply *L*
The fragile state of emotion is what makes us poets tick. It is the life blood of the world we make for ourselves. Often way to emotional for our own good, but I doubt in the end, we will complain. The pain and the joys are worth the writing.
This piece is one of my most favorite in life. It will have more added to it as well as time goes on. I tend to write seaquels to things from tim eto time and this one deserves more words to be said.
Thank you all for your comments.
Joe
