What would you do
If I said that I love you
What would you say
If I told you today
That my heart belongs to you and only you
And when you're not around I feel so blue
I need you in my life
I want you to be my light
To guide me through the dark when I'm alone
And to keep me singing a sweet love song

I don't know what the future brings
But I know it'll be okay
As long as I have you by my side

If ever you feel down or lonely
Just pick up the phone and call me
Because I want to know everything you go through
And I want to be there for you
When you need me
I want to be the man you need me to be

I don't want to ever see you
Without a smile all over your face
And happiness and joy pumping out of your heart
Baby without you I'd fall completely apart

You are my angel, my sweet Angelica
The one I love with all my heart
I know I've hurt you before
The past we just can't ignore
But I promise I want to spend the rest of my life
Making things right
Spending every day and night
Making you happy
Making you smile a sincere smile
Living a life that's worthwhile
Because the last thing I ever want to do
Is make the mistake of hurting you
Because I know that would kill me
Because I love you too much

Maybe I loved you way back when
Even though I said I didn't back then
Sometimes love hides from us
We just have to pray and keep hope up
And God will reveal the answers for us all

Please never doubt me
For sometimes I shy away from things
Afraid to be myself, afraid to express my heart
Afraid that I'll be torn apart

Here I sat down just to say a few words
Call this a poem, call it a song, call it whatever
But this is my heart and soul poured out for you
Maybe it's unorthodox, but everything I said is true

Thank you Kris, this piece stands out among most of my other love poems because I just sat down one day and wrote it. I didn't worry whether or not it rhymed or anything, I just wrote with my heart, as if it was holding the pen.
