If I only had the chance...

I would tell you that you were my best friend
My brother and certainly like no other
I would want you to know that your friendship was dear to me
And I will never have another friend like you

I would tell you about all the great times we had
I spent some of the greatest moments of my life with you
And I will never forget those memories
They will always be near to my heart

I see you in places we where we used to go
And in things that we used to do
Even in distance, I knew you were always there
Now that you're gone it just doesn't seem real

You and I had so much in common
We were even born on the same date
We did so many things together over the years
I only wish that we could have done more

You were my brother in every sense of the word
You really were the best friend that I have ever had
I hope with all of my heart that you knew this
I would tell you if I only had the chance
