AS THE SUN CAME UP IN MEMPHIS
As the sun came up in Memphis A tear rolls down my cheek I see a bird fly away To find eternal peace
A mortal uniform left behind Your presence is now beyond the sky Memories now flood my mind I will never understand why
As the sun came up in Memphis I see a brother fade from this life The dark clouds had to flee Now a silver lining shines so bright
As the sun came up in Memphis I bid farewell to my friend He stuck closer to me than a brother His sun will never set again
In memory of my brother and Poet Club co-founder, T.J. Barber.
