Candles

The scent of candles
fills up my senses
the light reminds me
of you on a dark night

How you light up the dark
and make the world brighter
How you show me the way
when I stumble and get lost

It reminds me of everything
your smile and your frown
your laughter and your quiet
your elation and your calm

Everything I think of
somehow connects to you
making you seem closer
and helping me maintain sanity

Because you are my rock
the foundation of my love
and each reminder of you
builds the foundation more

Nothing will break this
no matter what separates us
because there will always be a candle
to remind me how much I love you

okay, i know i already replied, but, i have to again because it is just so beautiful. my boy and me just talked about a lot of things and cleared up some things the other night and after reading it again w/ new everything how its supposed to be it touched my heart...i loved it. thanks for writing it!
