I know the captain of this ship He knows which way to steer He knows which way is clear No need for me to fear
Together, we can walk through the sea Even when the storms may come And my faith tries to run I will not come undone
For I was once nothing more Than a journeyman lost at sea And unbeknownst to me My captain was my King
He found me as I was drowning And retrieved me from the deep Then a mere fish, now one of His fleet On a voyage with the King of Kings
A Journeyman Lost At Sea By John B. Barnett
Inspired by Matthew 14: 22-33
I wrote this poem after being inspired by Peter and this incredible story in Matthew 14. It's a story of faith, adventure, fear, and rescue. Through the miracle, we see the man that Peter is and how we so often relate to him. We also see Jesus as the Saviour and how He is always there to rescue us, even when we doubt and give in to fear. He loves us and desires to be our Captain throughout all of our journeys in life. Will you let Him steer your vessel today?

I'm not sure what this comment was meant to suggest, but here at Poet Club we only accept comments that are of a positive nature. We have a section for constructive criticism, however this is not it.
BTW, I am John Barnett and I did write this poem. Thanks. Welcome to Poet Club!

Ok? Yeah... The comment seems to have confused me as well. How can one say that John B. Barnett did not write the poem, when you are John B. Barnett? Interesting. Great job John. I loved the poem. Good to see you writing again. Well, I assume this is a new piece. I know that you and I have an entire stockpile of poems to draw from. Anyhow, this poem is incredible. It is a perfect example of God's love and desire for us as His children. Great job!!!

Thanks bro. I actually wrote this poem last January but sadly it is the most recent piece I've written. I remember the days when I used to write like 10 in a day. Those were the days...

I hear ya man. I think it had something to do with the fact that there were so many things going on in our lives then that we could draw inspiration from. I'm not going to say that the inspiration has died in our lives but, things have certainly calmed down a great deal. Also, that which fills our lives now takes up so much of our time, we really don't have the time to dedicate to writing. At least you put something out there. I haven't written anything in probably two years, maybe more. Still, it's an incredible piece.
