Some time ago, on a sheet of notebook paper, the idea of Poet Club was first brought to life. John Barnett had a vision to create an organization for writers to come and share their work with one another. He shared his vision with Timothy Barber, and from there, they were partners.
The two of them, both poets, were searching to find the perfect place to gather poets from all around the world together to unite in order to strengthen the power of poetry all over. Together, in time, that's exactly what they did.
John and T.J. had both posted on several poetry forums online, and were very fond of several of them, but desired something greater on their own. Poet Club started out as an idea on a sheet of paper, then it went to small poetry pages online. So many different forums were created until the right one was found in sudden launch and eventually ProBoards. On December 22, 2002, Poet Club One was born. John and T.J. were ecstatic, like fathers of a new born baby. Though the site was shortlived, due to controversies and internet ism, Poet Club grew to be a wildly popular poetry forum. It was dubbed by many as "The best poetry website on the internet ever". Now, the Poet Club family members have all taken many different directions with their poetry and their lives, but Poet Club One and it's many subsidiaries, will live in our hearts forever.
Now, Poet Club Forever has been born and the Poet Clubbers are reuniting to stay, and this time, forever.
Welcome back to Poet Club!

This is so true. Everything John has said is so true. He is my partner in this great poetic realm. He is one of the most honest people I know. He has never misled me in anything, and he will never mislead you either. I want you all to know how much I appreciate you all. I thank you all for your enthusiasm and efforts to make Poet Club the best in the world. God Bless, Tj

i remember fondly the first poet club....it was pretty devastating when it got shut down...i'm serioulsy excited to once again be a part of something that was so great before! i extend my thanks to the two people who pour themselves into the endeavor everyday...you are the definitions of the inspiration and the love for art that lies within each poet who posts on these sites... God Bless you for not giving up on your dream!

Thank you all for your kind words. TJ is right, we as administrators are very lucky to have members such as you all. I think that I can speak for TJ as well by saying that the first Poet Club was filled with so many powerful emotions and such great excitement. From day one to the end, it was a roller-coaster ride. We as a team, have survived so many different storms that have been thrown our way during the last year regarding these sites, but here we are again, better than ever, and ready to take on the world. As I was telling TJ last night, we may have lost a few of our loyal travelers on the road, but we've picked up some even better ones now. Thanks again,
John

I do agree. It was completely full of great emotions. I know as well as you that there is no better to share it with either than these people. Farewell and Merry Christmas, Tj

Perhaps PC will go through the many faces and cycles that most organizations do and continually gain power and prestige.
