Ladies and gentlemen, TJ and myself are both proud to announce that today, December 22, 2003, is the first birthday of Poet Club. Exactly one year ago today, we created the first real Poet Club and began this amazing journey that is still going strong even today. Happy Birthday Poet Club!

Yes, Today is the day. Poet Club is now one year old and running. We hope to upgrade to much better servers before the next year is over. We appreciate you all for your support and sacrifice to this great site we all call home. One year ago today is the day that John and I stumbled upon suddenlaunch.com. We both were ready for our own website. A site to uphold and uplift all poets from all across the world. Happy Birthday Poet Club. God Bless and Merry Christmas to all of you!!!!!!!!!

Sitting here, reading this post, I am overwhelmed by a great flood of wonderful memories. It amazes me at how much life has changed over the past nine years. Isn't that insane? Poet Club is nine years old as of December 22nd 2011. Where did time go? How could things have changed so much in so little time? I suppose some things must remain a mystery. Reading this post just fills me with nostalgia. Poet Club was so young, only one year old at the time this post was made, but already it had become such a major part of our lives. On December 22nd 2002, John and I became the proud "parents/creators" of this wonderful website. But not too long after its creation, the website fell very suddenly and dramatically. Over the course of several months, piss poor renditions of the website were erected all across the web as John and I tried desperately to rebirth the site as individuals, divided in our efforts rather than working as a team like before. So much can happen in a matter of months. Finally, Coffee House Poetry was created and gradually became a slow success. It wasn't long however before Poet Club, the original idea, the original powerhouse, began calling out to us from the beyond. Despite what had happened and what we may have wanted at the time, John and I both knew that Poet Club had a future and that it certainly wasn't in Coffee House Poetry. Instead, John and I used Coffee House as a stepping stone in the right direction and with the help and support of a few members and close friends, this site was designed and launched. Since that day, many things have changed. I was only eighteen years old at the time, in 2003, living at home with my parents and sister. Now I am 26, almost 27 years old. I have been married for 6, almost 7 years and I have a wonderful 6 year old baby boy. John was also quite young, only a year older than I, still living at home as well. Now he too is married and the very proud father of two, twin boys. So much has changed and continues to do so. However, there is one thing that still remains. The both of us will always love and admire this site. We recognize it as a prominent part of our lives and both know that we wouldn't be the same people that we are today, without this site. Happy Birthday Poet Club!!!! I look forward to sharing so many more with you!!!
