Bound and losing Mik Namlieh
What words could ever hold you To the form that once you took, In my eyes a shining angel, burning bright Defying night and all illusions that denied us?
Sing for me my angel, of a chance to be alive Of the chance to change the world to something new. Sing to me a chorus that will break my heart apart That will make me start a life apart from you.
Silent rending in the daytime, by a table, by a friend, By a dozen friends all vying for your blessing, Tearing up the secret longing, love of shadow, love of grace, That held me still, that tied my heart with bitter binding.
How changed the world is now, how small and petty, When your eyes were once all loveliness desired, And I was on my knees to hear you whisper You were lonely; I was there, all you required.
Good night my soft sweet angel, take my blessing, Take my love and leave me here to know myself, Leave the hollowed, young maturity you owe me To welcome now illusions, so elusive, as deceptive as the night To which you left me, to confusion and to loss I never knew was so consuming Like a toothy creature gnawing at my body, at my nape and blunted elbows, Like a shadow that will drown me, take me, blur my lines and mask my eyes And make me miss you more than I had thought.
There is darkness underneath your burnished halo, And it calls to me with pleas I can’t refuse. I wish you’d speak with words So I wouldn’t be the one to always lose.

I was lost in a daze reading this. A good daze. I understood it but it was hypnotizing a little bit. (in a good way) I liked it alot. I loved how you expressed the singing of an angel as well as how it so easily could just brake your heart to shreds. Nice poem

I totally agree. This is absolutely hypnotizing. Beautiful diction, the piece just captivates and grips you from beginning to end, filling the reader with such sorrowful beauty, attention to the wording and flow... Breathtaking write, the soft yet mournful tone and ryhthm is awesome and beautiful. This is purely stunning.
