Since it's nearing the Season to be jolly (fa-la-la-la-la), I was just wondering about what spells Xmas to you. Mine would have to be the Xmas decor, when I see my neighbors put up those wonderful twinkly lights, it always puts me in the mood. I guess that's one of my childhood memories digressing. =)
Cheers, Penny

As I have voiced many times before, Last years Christmas was the most enjoyable experience I have ever had. Nothing pleased me more about the season than the fact that everywhere you went you could feel it. In your heart and in the hearts of others was almost like a still, small voice echoing loudly throughout everyone. This voise proudly proclaiming Christmas was here. I enjoyed it very, very much and am looking forward to another year spent with each and everyone of you. God Bless and Merry Christmas, Tj

For me, Christmas has always been about long, hot, summer days, the air is as dry as it can possibly get, and there's always smoke from some bushfire or another, just on hte horizon. Some years it's closer, others it's further away.
For some strange (or maybe not so strange) reason I always associate Christmas with fire or natural disasters.
1989 - 1993 we were in the tropics, so Christmas was a time of monsoonal storms and tropical cyclones.
Christmas 1994 was spent watching the news to see if our friends in the Blue Mountains were about to lose their home due to a bushfire (they did).
1997 and 1999 were the same.
2000 was spent sitting on the verandah listening to the radio, praying the wind would change in time (it did).
2002 we were standing on the roof with hoses, watering down the house in preparation. We only lost our back fence, that time.
2003 there was a dust storm, so we woke up on Christmas morning with *everything* covered in a coat of red dust.
Of course, we didn't realise what was going to happen two weeks later... That took a long time to get over.
But the main thing I associate Christmas with is heat, days and nights so hot the air shimmers.

When I see the decorations going up and I know to soon expect depression because I do not feel what others will in bonding with others.

When I lived back at home and when Christmas time rolled by it was all about just being with the family. Big dinners and people over...lotsa gifts and my mother going decorating happy....I no longer celebrate it because well, my family is in Germany and I'm here in the US...and there's no point in really celebrating holidays anyways. To me everday is a holiday...you don't know when you're gonna die so you gotta live it up.
Oh just a quick note for KG...he does usually work on all holidays...

For me chrismas is all about the snow. You probably its crazy but I live in michigan where theres snow every where and I just get soooo sick of it but it is fun to complain about. And I do snowboard need snow for that. It's fun to see the dog try to walk when the snow is almost as tall as she is.

Actualy yes, I do work on holidays. This year I will work through cristmas. They aren't my cup o' tea, I always feel like people are pushing you to take part in something that shoudln't even exist anyway. Besides, everyday is a day to celebrate life. I don't limit that to 15 days a year.

I agree with you somewhat on that Kem...I believe that Christmas has been taken way out of context in lots of ways. Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Christ not adorn ourselves with apparel of sorts. I think it's pretty crazy myself to push and shove over the holiday goodies but, who am I to question the ways of the world. I can just choose to stay out and away from them entirely. I mean I enjoy Christmas morning and sharing that special time with your friends and family but, I do not believe that we should just spend that time focusing on our needs and desires. I feel like it is a time to focus on the meaning of true love and life. That's how I feel about Christmas...
