Love’s Countenance

When love whispers my name
I deny, "Never!!" I exclaim
When loves wings try to enfold me
I shake loose crying, "Release me!!"
When love tries to enter my dream
I abruptly awaken, "Leave!!" I scream

Once love softly whispered my name
I answered with willingness, I came
Once it gently enfolded my soul
I merged with it, making me whole
Once being loved was all I aspired
Everything, my life's complete desire

Now, my spirit holds an unhealed wound
Now, my trust feels abandoned, marooned
Now, my desire weeps and cries out
"Love!! Oh, Love!! What are you about?"

"Tho' your countenance is warm, your manner pleasure
Hidden among all, is pain, pain without measure
Therefore, I deny, I reject, I close my heart to thee
I embrace all that you were as a distant memory."

Hi girl thanks for entering your poem on a heart scorned. My heart is confused about love and even if I fight to believe it, I cant just keep my mouth shut about it. I mean what is the difference between obsession and love? Why are there so many signs of love and all they do is confuse me into deeper confusion. I feel really religious about love. I am going to go back to the internet.
