[Broken hope]

Throught the years wisdom has come with compromise
My eyes have lost the sparkle and its no surprise

I have learned that love can kill and it will
Let it into your heart and it will fill

The poison will seep into your heart
But yours was black from the start

You filled me with illusions of love
Like you were an angel from above

Should have listened to the voice inside
Telling my heart it needed to hide

We all make mistakes and i was yours
All this time your still the one i adore

why can't we just be true again
I need to say i never wanted this to end

I lie to you to make it through the day
I just wish i could say what i needed to say

I feel a need to protect you from the pain i feel
No one should feel this when not even i can deal

This has been killing me forever and im dying so fast
But nothing is forever and love will never last

Rather be your friend forever then yours for eternity
Rather die young then live in uncertainty

Keep it flowing. Things are getting greater by the post. I really enjoyed this piece if you couldn't tell. You're a great poet, I also feel that poetry expresses the unseen emotions held deep in the heart so I can tell just how deep you must be on the inside. Great job, I loved it as well!
