Autumn camouflaged as death, invading the days of November. Insidiously with halting breath, ghosts of those passed on to remember.
Robed in a fading kaleidoscope, of dying color and gray parchment skies. The spectral autumn reaper gloats, as all that he touches dies.
Inevitably now has come my turn, as I sense his shadow behind me. Muffled footsteps and eyes that burn, soon to overtake me as I flee.
Gaining, he unfolds his shroud, taking me within it’s darkness. Eternity beckons, silence endowed, from dust to dust, no more, no less.

Dreamcatcher,
I have to say that it is ALWAYS a pleasure to read you. Your verbiage always makes me smile, for some reason, LOL.
My favourite stanza...
Robed in a fading kaleidoscope, of dying color and gray parchment skies. The spectral autumn reaper gloats, as all that he touches dies.
Well done...write on, please!

does it truly invade? i think that autumn fits in quite nicely with early november. but then again, maybe the weather up here is a little different from what the rest of you experience?
wonderfully put.
