Silence
...for my past
Dark silent corridors echo whisperings of my mind where dust lies, sterile grey mantle obscuring memories of dreams that never were to be...
Still, a lingering presence haunts; vague, formless, yet strangely familiar, evading playfully my feeble attempts to know, hiding behind hollow mocking laughter, knowing things I know not, yet grope blindly for...
Perhaps this dust lies a funereal pall, for I cannot perceive ancient vistages that lie buried; I cannot penetrate dark mysteries and the eldritch wraiths they embody...
And yet, I perceive faint, subtle haunting forms in the numbing twilight pervading my being, wraiths evoking melancholy visions that flicker eerily in the dismal gloom, taunting, and unknown...
