Demise of Innocence
A black shadow covers the ground encasing the world in inky silence the time is ripe for fears to fly and chills to run down the spine
screams are silenced quickly but caution is thrown to the wind the shadows dart in and out latching onto the innocent
it seems the innocent are the first-- the first on the list to die taken with no remorse for the youthful hope they represent
as the innocent disappear the shadows seem to grow darker and longer until the sun no longer peeks forth into the dreary world of cynicism
the black shadow enshrouds the world and tolls a death bell the shadows take over the world and innocence is lost forever

thanks...and it does seem as if innocence is a thing of the past...but then i see my baby brother and remember that although his life is tougher than what it would have been years and years back, he still represents what we all wish we could have back

unfortunately this piece rings so true of society today...what kind of world are our children inheriting?...a much more sinister one than I knew in my youth...a very thought provoking piece...
