**much to my shock and dismay i was lying in bed and i discovered that i have some pent up emotion after 3 years...time to get it out, and so that's what this poem is all about, not all poems about family have to be good i suppose...
To my "Parents" May 17, 2004
Dear Father,
When you look inside your mind what do you see? Is it something to be proud of or is it an embarassment, like me
How come it took divorce for you to realize your wrongs why did it take our pain to guide you, make you strong?
Dear Mother,
Why did you wait so long what were you waiting for it didn't do any good except give pain to one more
Did you think of who you hurt by tearing us away, apart? what were you thinking when you broke our hearts?
Dear Parents,
Don't you understand that you're both at fault Every action and counteraction was like a brand new assault
Only your blows weren't falling on each other you destroyed your children instead now, in my heart of hearts my parents are lying dead

this is my relationship with parents, go fishin, you'll find what i'm about. moreso with my mother, she broke me down. my relationship with my parents had nothing to do with divorce though, i think that's a toughie to deal with irrespective of age. i think this was a very fine write, honest to yourself and that's the best that you can do when your parents aren't there to catch you. well done kris. x rinna x

I can relate to this. After my parents divorced, things changed... I didn't mind that they were splitting, because I didn't want them to suffer, but the mistake they made was dumping the anger they held for one another on my brother and I. There were a lot of things that they did which because of it, I don't really trust either one of them. It's heart-breaking that in divorce or in any kind of marital fight, the children are the ones hurt the most. Powerful piece, BRT, as you can see it really stirred my emotions.
