Stay away from me, are the words I often whisper, Kids my age turn away, afraid to come any closer... Any person that tried to greet me, I quickly pushed them away Gave them a reason not to stay.
My wonderful friends always wondered, How I truly felt, I never spoke my mind, not ever, And slowly these friends faded, I still see their faces, so easy to remember And their names I still whisper.
I was given many oppurtunities, But I gave in to sheer stupidity I ruined everything that I worked hard for I lost all the friends that stayed by my side I destroyed my heart, my soul, my pride.
Shortly after my parents parted ways My reasons to live began to sway So many nights of shouting and crying, The moments logged inside me, Deep in the depths of memory.
For so long I was alone, even with friends here and there And in the end, I was left with nothing but my parents' despair, Now I am alone and staring at an old photo of all of us together, And I realize that all this time I was the one that destroyed our perfect life.

i know how this is, except in my case my parents split first and my relationships with others went downhill quickly after that...this is a wonderful piece...great job!
