What is this monster
eating at my insides
why do I wish
that you were my guy

I wish that you could love me
I wish that I didn't feel
I know this monster
is going to eat me alive

I wish I was pretty enough
to attract your attention
there are so many feelings
most of which I can't mention

I wish for one look
to make me fell more secure
I wish girls wouldn't flock to you
because now I'm more unsure

Surely they're more beautiful
surely I'm not what you want
surely they have more to give
I just will never measure up
