When the long day ends, I sit with friends, contemplating lifes great meaning. Eyes get bleary, words turn weary, conversation verbally demeaning.
Really dear, my friends that are here, never would disagree with me. I could say that, the world is flat, and they would totally agree.
Now I must confess, and digress, my friends are commercially grown, Cigarettes by the pack, rich coffee black, best friends I’ve ever known.
Smoke rings curl, above me swirl, and lead me to great aspirations. Coffee flows, through my veins goes, my warm, liquid inspirations.
Bad habit or not, I like it a lot, although some would disagree. Bad for my health, sneaky stealth, will one day sneak up and bite me.

Definitely, a two-sided poem and I like it, especially, that last stanza.

This is witty, sardonic, well-done, and a double-edged sword all in one!
Seems we share mutual friends, Dreamcatcher - and a mutual end
