My Best Friend

I don't know if I ever told you
but you mean the world to me
I don't remember if I said it
but you are a major piece of me

Just your role in my life
has made me better than before
you have been the rock I needed
I never could have wished for more

I have asked for many things
but never asked for a friend
I've always had the best one you could ask for
the one on which I can depend

You have helped me grow
you have helped me live
you are the only friend I'll ever need
but, my friendship is all I have to give

I appreciate your part in my life
and I never want this to change
no matter what divides us
remember you're my best friend
