During dark of summer night, not another soul in sight, in my travel I came to a bridge, spanning a river known as Chagrin. There, halfway across the bridge, a single form at first I thought, then sudden sureness it was not. Not a single form in my sight, nor illusion of the night, but multiple beings I was seeing. What I saw,I am telling no lie, was a band of angels before my eyes. Who calmly lifted their white wings, unto my soul, peace they did bring. Then Heavenward they did ascend, high over moonlit rivers bend. Into the mighty sky dome of night, they disappeared from my grateful sight.

beginning and end repetition - check image and symbol repetition - check syntactical repetition - check slant, straight, identical and eye rhymes....check, check, check and check...
i am extremely impressed with your formal style with this piece, very well done!

Edgar Allan Poe is the only thing that came to mind while reading this. Very good work; keep it up
