Perhaps I should drive a nail
Into the palm of my hand
Then maybe I could direct my sail
Unto the promised land
Each day that I am given
I stumble and I fall
But what's this life I'm living
If I haven't surrendered my all

Perhaps I should make a crown
And place it upon my head
A crown of thorns so round
To ensure my blood is shed
Then maybe I would see
The things He's done for me
And try to be all I can be
To be with Him eternally
