The box

I put away your letters
took away the pictures
locked away the memories
of that which haunts my soul

Closed the door on wishes
turned off the dim lights
put a padlock on my heart
turned the tepeture down low

My words have all meant nothing
used like an old newspaper
your wants and your desires
rule all that you are

Where I thought I mattered
shows holes in the floor
nothing left to stand on
but broken promises of faith

now set in the back
of the darkest closet here
sits a box of foolish memories
of trust and love of you

You are so well worded. I have often wondered how a sensitive fellow like one of us poets can keep having our hearts broken when Ladies proclaim to need a sensitive man in their lives. I saw myself in reading this.

Trouble is I guess that ............ hmm..... I do not know *S*... I just wish I could find a sensative woman.. perhaps one day.. no offense meant ladies *S*

this is a very wellworded and truly lovely poem. i loved these lines:
