Pleas and Tanks May 17, 2004 10:59 pm
my soul has been stripped laid open to your eyes and you laugh as it huddles in a corner, scared and vulnerable
pain rips through it like dozens of knives stabbing at the tender flesh exposed to your cruelties
laying there, gasping to hold on it watches warily as you approach, nearer you draw, to give the last, shattering blow
One last plea springs forth from trembling lips but your face says much and your actions say more
Swiftly you strike and the last breath is taken as my soul gives up the battle without ever having fought its fate

A poet at heart feels so deeply, and you are such a poet. This was well written and touched this moment in rhymes so that I could feel the pain. Thank you for sharing this poem.
