Winter is coming. All the fond optimism Of prattling Spring Is now bleak asperity, And I prefer it that way.
I can say, ‘I told you so’ To the wind as it breaks Its heart on my window, Howling in hopeless plea For another chance.
Or the rain that writhes And slews in agony, To drown in pools Of failure in a hiss And sob of despair.
Sometimes, for a brash Moment, I understand And see it all, and I know why I’m alive, And death has no pull.
I can wander in the Silence of solitude, Rocked in a dark shell, Where regret is no more Than whisperings.
Soon, they too will pass. Soon, the season will Bring peace in Cloak and shroud Of darkness and cold.
Until then, I will keep The light at my back, Always in silhouette, Or walk in the rain, Or at night.
I will survive.

I am not sure but I feel as if this is the first piece I have read from you and I must say that I am very stunned at your performance. You are a great poet and I look forward to reading more from you soon.
