will you be by my side when I leave this hard world will you carry my torch for as long as all time
will you tell our children stories pack their lunches sending them to school may I hold your hands when you cry for a loved ones final voyage
will you love me alone from now on may I be the only ones to caress you lips and show you the depths of my love in many thousands of ways
my heart is forever yours it shall never be shared again for there is only one key and you wear it around your heart
Now my dearest keeper of my heart will you once again promise me your hand leaving all others in the past so I can love you as I wish?

Since I am getting married in a couple of months, I found this poem very interesting. I can feel the real heartache from this piece. It's rythym and imagery gripped my heart and held me in suspence. I loved it Joe. It made my heart quiver. It read to me almost like a beautiful song you might hear during a romantic movie. Good job my friend, Tj

I do thank you for your comments, I am thinking that this one really proves to me what I think about a poem is what the reader finds it to be. I placed it in this section to sort of say that it was a very painful work. Sort of like a child crying out to hold on to what has been torn away from them. And it was read as sweet and loving. I do not know if you will understand this, but the fact that people can take my words and have them feel what they have inside, is likely the very best compliment I have ever recieved on my writings.

I understood what you said and feel that you are a kind and loving person after reading your work. Perhaps to you a thing would seem bad but to someone less Classic romantic could see it as another thing entirely.
