This was written after someone, for what seems like the millionth time, asked me "what happened to your arms?" (*laugh* and hips, stomach, shoulders, ankles, thighs...) I kept on coming up with more and more outrageous excuses Anything in order to give me time to escape.

questions
inevitable as always
as I stretched
my sleeves pulled up
and I saw your eyes
dance across my arms

I close my eyes
for a brief second
try to think up
a new excuse

have you ever had
sex with a hedgehog
that one usually
produces a laugh
or a blank stare
long enough for me to
escape

when they tell you
it’s bad to hug a bear
at the zoo, listen to them
that’s the next one that springs
to mind

none of your f*cking business
no I can’t use that one
that just opens the door
to hostility
I can’t handle hostility today

I feel like taking my clothes off
standing there naked before you
don’t you dare turn away
you want to know so much about me

but I don’t
I mutter something
it’s a loooong story
I laugh

and go back to work

sex with a hedgehog...ha ha ha. Thats funny...but for such a sad story. Maybe instead of making excuses...and digging yourself deeper in lies...why not ask a question back...like "what the hell did you do to your hair/shoes/pants/etc." Or "why is your fly open" and run away. ha ha ha. Wait...this isnt a funny matter. This tells a sad story in a different perspective. Nicely done.
