And downward falls the land of peace, Into the drowning abyss, Dreams of pleasantry and happiness, Reduced to muffled cries.
Like the beautiful vase that shatters, The dream breaks into one thousand pieces, One by one the shards are discarded, Something once beautiful now emptied into the wastebasket.
She heads up to her empty bedroom, The tears threatening to fall, No matter the time or how she tries, The vision of him never fades.
When the day is finished and the stars come out at night, The weeping begins as her heart sinks once more- And into the pain she drowns. Like the rise of the sun, the ache is eternal.
After another night of the most horrible of reminders, The sun makes itself known to all, But the sun cannot heal, A heart that's been broken.
The hollowness that lingers after so much time, is a void too big to simply ignore, What can she do, but break down and cry? It's so hard to live, when he's not by her side.
She readies herself for work, Light on the blush and heavy on the falseness, The smile she wears only an mask to disguise what she feels; An image she wears only to ease the ones that love her.
She laughs her way through her supposed good day, Wanting badly to give up and die, She inwardly sighs- she's just so sad and forlorn, As she mourns forever the death of her lover.

i love this line...i have felt this before..wanting to die, but not because of a lover, but because of other things...i really felt this piece connect with me even though the subject matter was not exactly like my life...great job! i love it when someone writes well enough for me to connect with it!
