Darkness lies in wait
holding shadows in it's wake
the cold emptiness
vacant of tender care
empty arms scream out
for dreams that never happen
walking alone in the rain
to hide the ripping pain
doors all being closed
if approached at all
cold winds blow to the bone
in an endless lonely walk
day turns to night
night turns to day
wandering goes onward
feet moving still
on and on and on
till the feet will no longer move
