I have the weight of the world Sitting on my shoulders Those who are against me Get bolder and bolder The words that I hear Are colder and colder So I pray to the Lord My soul's true holder And I confide in my love And this is what I told her
CHORUS Sticks and stones may break my bones But words can kill me on their own When you start to speak My heart gets so weak And I am left so screwed All courtesy of you
Life is more than it seems More than just an oddball dream So up your self-esteem Or else you'll go unseen Unheard, dead to the world Just a pong in the big game Buried in shame So lame, insane, drowning the pouring rain You know all losers succumb to the pain
Repeat Chorus
Maybe I'm tough, maybe I'm rough But I can get enough of your painful stuff You pick me up and knock me down You make me smile and make me frown Sometimes I feel like a punching bag just for you
Repeat chorus(2X)

Great song John, very truthful and has a great meaning behind it. Keep up the great work!

I have the weight of the world Sitting on my shoulders
Sticks and stones may break my bones But words can kill me on their own
You pick me up and knock me down Tis a bit cliche, no?
There were some good ideas in this piece, but it just didn't apeal to me very much. You come across as a strong individual, Prince of Black Hearts.
