Perhaps if you simply ignore what others look like, and let go of all your prejudices, and maybe even try...
Perhaps if you listen to them, and listen well, and even encourage the talking, and even respond...
Perhaps if you take a chance to really get to know them, and find out their favorite type of music, or color, or movie...
Perhaps if you try to understand them and try to acknowledge them and try to befriend them and even learn to trust...
Perhaps then our society won't be dead.

i love this piece...especially the last line...which of course would make no sense without the rest....i love the ideas you put forth the conflict you show in how our society is shaped today..great job!

I really like this poem as it brings home the message that one must look beneath the surface of people. It is a thoughtful and deep poem. I like it very much. Tania
