Sunlit
And in the rising sun you’ll see my smile telling you I am proud of just your day to day accomplishments. And in the singing ocean you’ll hear my lullaby softly rocking you to sleep after ages of burdens. And in the rainy days you’ll feel my tears as I cry over your pain trying to wash it all away. And in the silent night you will sense my eyes watching you through the night protecting my little one. And in the dawning you will know my sense of peace as nothing shall destroy your most happiest day. And in the beauty of twilight you will believe I’m okay as the stars light for you and only you, my dear. And in the final harbor of your life filled breath you shall see me waiting and I shall smile again. For you are my baby always.
written from my mother's point of view in what i'd hope she'd say. she died may 11, 2004.

I very much enjoyed your poem *S* I must say the line you added at the bottom, got to me and gave the poem even more depth.. knowing the loss of one parent already and the imminant loss of the other due to ilness.. this made me feel, as well as think.. thank you

this is a beautiful poem...i'm so sorry that you lost your mom...neither of my parents have passed on but my relationship with them is very stilted...i just talked to my mom for the first time in 2 years yesterday....again i'm sorry about your mom, and i'm sure she would say these things to you if she could!
