amelie’s 119th Dream
I entered the room But it kept getting warmer, Till it was filled with My blushing heat, And clammy strangers Decided it was topical To discuss my underwear. I knew I must be drunk Or dreaming because I was witty and bright; Five feet ten and a cleavage.
Also, my mobile phone Refused to stay silent, Arguing it was a symbol Of my grand status. People I didn’t know Came up to reminisce, And I met a man Who wanted my love; I offered all I had to give, But he settled for cash And my credit card.
I was in the colours of May, But all around was November; And I stood at a high window, Catching snowflakes on my tongue, With people whispering below, Saying, I’d been up too long, It was time to bring me down. I said, I don’t mind the fall, It’s the way things have to be; I just hope I have left inside Someone, I can still call me.
They said, I didn’t have A mind of my own; But to prove them wrong, I turned myself into A supermarket trolley And ran over their toes, As the alarm clock went off, And I realised it was Time to begin therapy.

I liked teh structure of this piece, the commas and several stanzas make it seem fractured and broken in parts, just like a dream if you like. A rather humourous end to it which was unexpected but pleasant nonetheless. Great job here Melis.
