The Pirate King
The Hawk flies north to rescue her Pirate King determined her heart bursting in her feathered chest her mind's eye focused on his face his Valley eyes
she found him and closed her tired wings around him he ruffled her feathers and held her tight
in the twilight of predawn I wake feel the pang of empty arms as the rapture of the dream fades away into the Dark
I rise throw open the shutters watch the moon's reflection dance across the lake
I know that somewhere in this world my Pirate King watches the same moon as I
so I can wait a little longer I lay back down and dream of bandanas and swords
of a future yet to come
