My Christmas Morning
You
– my Christmas morning –
a beautiful green box
tied with a gold ribbon
waiting for me under the tree
as a bright eyed greedy child
I crept down on Christmas Eve
while the world around me slept
I tugged on the gold ribbon
and lifted the green lid
and peered inside
to find nothing

as a child...my christmas mornings were mostly empty.....perhaps even emptier than your box...in fact many of my presents were never wrapped.
But all that aside, you have a great poem here, enjoyed the read

Well, there was a certain Christmas present, he put himself in a massive removalist box and when I opened it up he leapt out wearing a Santa hat with tinsel wrapped around him...

Funny story....very good poem...I do remember Christmas being like this at times when I was a child...idiots kicking the tree down on Christmas Eve...things like that.
