I never wanted to be like them Never wanted to risk my soul But somewhere down the line I got tired of paying the toll
I don’t want to change me That was never the plan Though to everyone else They still do all they can
What’s wrong with me? Am I not allowed to be who I am? Is it against your rules, To be different from them?
So I’ve unconsciously conformed Had normal seep into my mind But that’s not enough for you You still demand what uniqueness I hide
But if being different Means always being alone I’m not sure I can take it Not sure I can keep hold

For so very many reasons.. These lines hit a special place for me. People always look down their noses at who I am. I break societies rules, maybe to much... I enjoyed this poem perhaps more then I have enjoyed any on any of the boards in a very very long time.. thank you for sharing ut
